It could turn out to be a good thing like 2 years down the road. Sprint has a lot of spectrum (and unfortunately a lot of debt)
If anything, they should dump TMO's GSM network. Sprint has already built out a 3G network with EVDO Rev A, while TMO is just starting and it will be quite some time before they have 3G throughout the country.
That being said, I doubt TMO would even consider Sprint and does anyone really want another carrier to be swallowed up? Less choice equals higher prices. Just look at Canada.
