There used to be in the old OS's. You had to file email into the Deleted Items folder. For some reason the newer (4.2 and higher) OS releases don't allow this. As a workaround I created a Delete folder (which I can file into) and set my autoarchive options to periodically clear the Delete folder.

Hopefully there's a better solution out there.
