'Cause the form factor is good, the keyboard is a nice compromise between a phone and full QWERTY, and it works just fine as a PDA/Phone using Intellisync.
Frankly, I would love to enable data services on my 7100T, but there is no GPRS "off switch", so when I travel internationally, I'd get hammered with the T-Mobile international data charges. T-Mobile wouldn't even venture a guess at what the daily throughput would be in just overhead -- just having the device on and receiving no email.
As I've said in another posting, my old Nokia 6310i has a switch for GPRS... I really don't understand why there is nothing similar on the Blackberry.
