Um, I didn't ask for a free replacement; as I said, all I requested was a cheap 5 cent spring (even a used one). If I could find/buy one on my own, I'd do it.
As for "a long time", you think 30 days past a warranty expiration is a long time? It'd be one thing if I misused the product. Or if I asked for refund 2 years after the fact. I did neither.
