Mate, if the OS is screwy try to go straight into the Apploader.exe

if it cant get it there pull the plug on it and put it back in a few times (will be frustrating) and try to catch the OS before it dies... in apploader the second the pin shows up hit next..

once apploader can grab the device you should be able to undo the dmg.. good luck
