That's a BIG "phew!"
At least the fanatics that "have to have it right now" didn't buy a device that gets permanently disables like the pre-release buyers. It would have been nice of RIM to warn about this however. I can see them protecting AT&T's exclusivity deal, but a head up would have been cool.
