There's a lot more to it than just "stealing company secrets." Think of their "network" like a house of cards. They have to protect the house of cards. If someone pulls one card from one corner of the house of cards, the whole thing will come toppling down. There are real dangers out there. While the BB isn't really one of the big dangers, they are still responsible should anything happen. They really do have to protect their infrastructure.
