jamju01 - there is no physical connection between the berry and the antenna. You are, in essence, installing your personal cell tower in your home - a repeater actually. There is an external antenna that is hard-wired to the amp and an antenna in your house that is also hard-wired to the amp. The phone gets its signal from the internal antenna, so you can walk around the house. Multiple phones can use the same set-up as well.
One thing to note, since I purchase my set-up, the costs have gone up quite a bit.
