I wanted the bold. just used my wife's upgrade eligibility for the iPhone with T. SOL..until I agreed to add tethering to the plan (+30.)... got the 299 (with rebate price)..spend 6 hours getting it to work, but have the Bold and it's super... just need to figure out how to do music as most of my iTunes are lossless and drm...or ona network..
here's what else they did... I have a built in 3g card in my laptop so they canceled my agreement that had a year left ($60 per month) on the laptop because I transferred the line (this was the compromise they made) which I thought was cool.. so no new line/service (other than the tethering). Got the bold and the laptop still has internet on wireless...
btw. the tethering over bluetooth with the bold screams compared to the built in system... laptop is a dell xps 1330... fwiw.

So I'm paying notheing more (other than buying the bold for 300$) and have more and better service and the BOLD... I'm almost pleased!
