Default Profiles and Exceptions

Had a question re exceptions in a profile, and how they work.

If I have a custom ringtone for a contact, will clicking the box under "use active profile except for", apply that ringtone no matter what the profile is set up for?

For instance, if I click the box, and have the vibrate profile selected, the ringtone will still come thru, and not vibrate, for that contact when they call?

And for a "loud" profile, it will just use the ringtone, rather than the ringtone I select for that "loud" profile.

Is that correct?
