After scratching my head for weeks and tolerating battery drain on my Blackberry Curve, I finally was able to track down the problem. I trouble shot the hell out of it, turned this and that off and then back on and never could quite nail down what was causing my relatively new 900mAh (and properly charged/discharged) battery to drain to dead within three to four hours. Narrowing the root cause finally came down to studying the environment that it was consistently happening in and it was finally tracked down to a "Bluetooth rich" environment. Simply put, when my Bluetooth was on and there were other Bluetooth devices in the area, the phone kept trying to pair/unpair with these devices and the constant radio usage for the Bluetooth portion is what was killing the battery.
No it was not poor signal coverage, no it was not constant text messaging/email, no it was not constant calls, and no it was not from simply leaving Bluetooth on; it was an abundance of Bluetooth devices in close proximity.
Hope this helps!
