Maybe with a better implementation/power menagement it could work like a normal phone, enabling its receiver to operate at a duty cycle of less than 10% and still respond on RF requests.
Apart from that the display is very low resolution and very small. The only good feature I could find is its keyboard, because once used to it, you can type pretty fast. Being able to use it as an MP3 player might be a major fun factor versus a classic Blackberry, but its movie capability is total nonsens.
At least I was real happy to go back to my 7730 with a real display and solid long term functionality. I will soon test the MDAIII, which might be an intersting multifunctional alternative.
I only just got mine, as in Australia they are being sold extremely cheap, and im wondering how it works as an .mp3 player? i know that i can transfer .mp3 files onto the phone, however, when i try to play them as i would the other audio files on the phone, all that comes up is the file information. I had just assumed since there was no mention of .mp3 capability, this phone did not posess the ability to play .mp3 files.

is there some sort of firmware upgrade or software i can load onto the SK65 in order to allow playback of .mp3 files? even as just short clips for ringtones?

any help is greatly appreciated...

other than that, this phone is pretty damn sexy...it is limited functionality wise, but for what i paid for it ($129 Aus), i am very happy with it as an overall package
