Default Alternative to Media Manager

I have a BlackBerry Pearl 8100.
I do NOT have a memory card.
I want to access the files on the DEVICES MEMORY.
Is it possible to have Mass Storage enabled for the DEVICE MEMORY or do I HAVE TO use Roxio Media Manager?
