I haven't personaly had those problems yet, other than the call volume being lower than my liking; but I just put it on speakerphone and hold that side to my ear if I absolutely need to because i'm in a loud environment.

Though as far as the latest version; I (as the person above me) also recall it being a downgrade to Pre 4.0, not an upgrade to the latest version if you wanted to fix the phone quality issues.
