Indicator symbol question & Push Please Login to Remove! I have searched both the RIM website as well as the forums. Cannot seem to find my answer:
My AT&T Bold (.167) displays a symbol next to the 3G symbol. It kind of looks like the BB symbol; but is only visible when in a 3G area. The manual does not explain the symbols nor can the AT&T support staff explain.
Here is my issue: When I am in a 3G area, both my BIS (.mac & gmail) and BES messages are pushed immediately to my Bold. However, when I am in EDGE, the symbol disappears and all of my messages are delayed, including BES. The delay varies; but, the BIS messages are affected more by the delay.
The folks at RIM as well as AT&T are having a tough time with this as well.
What does the symbol actually mean (screen shot on page 9 of ATT&T Bold manual) and does it affect the push capabilities of the device / service?
Thanks.
