RIM does not really handle warranty, your carrier does. Repairs are done by a 3rd party. I go through a lot of BBs every year because my users are rough with them. When the BB is under warranty, my carrier always ships me a replacement and a prepaid courier envellope to ship the old one back. Sounds like your carrier is dropping the ball.

Sprint handles the first 30 days. It was 11 months old and I was required to send to BB for repair. I could have sent thru sprint but they used the same process I used (or so I was told). Plus there was a fee for sprint to do it.
