Default 8700c and HSDPA ?

Heya,

I know that the 8700c is compatible with EDGE. I wanna know if when the HSDPA network becomes available, if the 8700c will support it? Or will we have to buy an entirely new phone to use it? If so, when would that phone come out?

If the 8700c isn't going to support HSDPA, would it then make sense to wait for an HSDPA blackberry? I am looking at this article from Lucent about HSDPA and this sounds way too good to be true??

http://www.lucent.com/press/0105/050104.nsa.html

data speeds up to 3.6mbps and a theoretical max peak of 14.4mbps ? Can you imagine what that would be like? If blackberry threw in HSDPA and a modem feature, there would be no stopping it, not that there not already great devices. (I still love the 7290!)

I think the answer to this question will determine wether or not out there with the other "Black Friday" shoppers.
