Yes the 8900 can receive picture messages without having to log into the picture server, since this is new TMo recommends you send two picture messages to yourself first and that it should start coming in as a MMS message and not having to log into the server. If that doesn't work then you'll see to call customer service. I have no issues getting MMS messages in my inbox on the device
