I actually had my pair run through a snow-blower (true story), and they worked fine after. As for Bluetooth car clips, I have used the BlueAnt SuperTooth, Motorola T505, Jabra SP700, Parrot MiniKit. The T505 and MiniKit were tops and failry equal, while the others did not produce the same audio quality.
