I would say either follow Rambo47's suggestion, or if you have/know somebody that has decent image editting software (something around the caliber of PhotoShop) you can try to tweak the image to leave some room at the top and bottom of the wallpaper as I did while keeping the main portion of the pic towards the center of the screen.

The ones I did above were quick and easy because the backgrounds were solid colors. I suppose you could kind of letterbox the image if it's not as simple, and give the portions of the screen where the banner/app icons reside on the screen a black background. That, or find someone that studied graphic design to really hook it up! LOL
