Also, just an update here.

When I go to ABOUT under the desktop manager, and then click the "device software" tab, there are no installed device systems under the device models. So how do I install it?

This is so frustrating and doesn't make any sense to me. With my 7290, I just installed the software, plugged the unit in, and it was good to go.
