| | Shazam Setup 1302 Error

I just downloaded Shazam 2.0.0 from the App store. When I launch it, it tries to run Setup then after awhile comes back with a message stating "Sorry. Shazam cannot connect to the internet..." with a message number of 1302.
I've ensured all permissions are granted; I've pulled the battery, I've tried every combination of browser setting (Internet or BB browser in eithe Default Browser of Default MDS) setting.
I'm new to this specific Blackberry and this BES. I think they don't have the BES browser setup - they only allow the "Internet" browser - not sure if that's part of the problem.
I'm running an 8830, 22.214.171.124, on Verizon.
