Why don't you just do a transparent forward copy of the messages to your Blackberry account from the email service that provides the email you need so urgently. Then just tell the POP3 checker to not check that account. This way you'll get email instantly while not needing BES. I did this for a while and it works just fine, I just moved to BES because of the full OTA sync...my 8700r was a flakey unit...I just did an OTA Enterprise Activation and within 10 mins my new phone was back to normal with no syncing required...I did it from the cell store when exchanging the faulty unit...
