Configuring the BES to see the config database on the new server is enough to get BES to see the new location for MDSS and MDSS_DIS? I'm running 4.1.6.

Thanks!
Yep.
Back them up and detach.
Run the config wizard and let it create the new, blank BESMgmt on the new SQL server. After it's up and running, restore the backup (with MDSS & MDSS_DIS) over the blank and restart your services. Should pick right up and continue chugging along.
