You don't even need to use DM to copy/paste files/photos from the device to your computer (or vice versa). As indicated above, you do the following:
Step 1. Connect the device to your PC with the data cable
The following will happen:
(a) You will be asked if you wanted to turn on the mass storate unit (SD card)? Select YES and enter
(b) You will be asked to enter your password if you have one
Step 2. When you select My Computer, the BlackBerry will show up as one of (storage) devices like other flash drives, cards etc.
Step 3. You go to (select) any device/area to copy/paste like you normally do when you use your flashdrives or other storage units. Consider the BalackBerry like any other storage unit.
