Question What does "Official" mean?

So, Bell has released an "Official" release of 122, Verizon's still stuck on an "Official" .75, BlackBerry has released "Beta" 131.

We have the option to take Bell's official 122 and put it on a Verizon Storm, which is "unofficial".

I guess my question is, if we were to ignore the carrier's "official" stamp of approval, does BlackBerry themselves actually release updates that are "official", non-beta releases?

Or are all BB's releases considered to be "official blackberry releases" pending "official carrier approvals"?

or are BB's releases to be considered "beta-releases" pending "official carrier approvals"?

Or does the word "Official" only pertain to releases that have passed both BB's release process and the Carrier's release approvals?
