wav files are not supported on the 7100, so no. this would work with the 7130e and 8700c/r only right now.

it appears that the 8700 only supports 32khz wave files (16-bit mono). most wave files from various voicemail delivery systems are downsampled to 8khz (16-bit mono). if the BES cannot upsample the wave files, then thats a huge mistake on their part to limit it to 32khz, in my opinion - a rather stupid mistake.

a 120kb at 32khz gives approximately 2 seconds worth of audio.

any RIM employees reading this care to send this observation up the pipeline?

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
