Default 8700C/Tmobile issues (mms) - 06-21-2009, 01:13 AM

Hi there, been a long time lurker but decided to register and post my issue.
A friend gave me his old unlocked 8700c which I am currently using with tmobile. The phone is solid but the only complaint is MMS texting. Before I go on I need to clarify that I DO NOT have a data plan. I just don't have much use for it. I saw that this is a much discussed issue here and I have done some research.

The only complaint I have is MMS/Picture messaging. I tried calling Tmobile and having them add the BB enabler tool but the PDA reps I've talked to don't seem to know what that is anymore. I tried calling at&t but they don't seem to know anything about BB smartphones at all.
I had one tmobile rep go through the service book process with me. Later that evening the phone was texting itself indicating that my 8700 had been registered with the network. I checked the service book folder and it had a few new tmobile inputs there:

MMS transport [WPTCP]
TMOBILE USA WAP2.0 Support
TMOBILE USA WAP Browser configuration
TMOBILE USA WAP transport
Wap Push Config [WAPPushConfig]

^ all had check marks next to them and said active.

But when I was sent a pic msg from a friend it only said: You have been sent a message you can view at my.tmobile.com-use your normal username and password to sign in.

I am still not able to see any of this on my phone. I went on tmobile and saw the pic that way but that method is lame for a BB. I would like to be able to send and receive mms/pic msgs that I can see on my own BB screen.

I am thinking if I install a newer OS than the original one, it might help solve the issue, what do you guys think? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
