You're probably not putting in the right password, or at least your password is not actually what you think it is.

The password on your phone, I expect you think it's numeric when infact it's actually letters.

e.g.
if you typed in the password 12345 on your BlackBerry, it's actually etudg because you're not pressing the alt button when you're typing it.
