Insisting on a memory card is probably a smart thing. It saves so many memory hassles and not having one can ruin a users' experience with a BlackBerry. Sprint is now requiring data plans with devices like the Palm Pre for that reason (and for the additional revenue, of course). So while I hate to have things like this dictated to me, making the requirements known right up front means buyers just have to do their homework and make an informed decision.
