You don't have to go into View Folders to delete phone logs, just click on the icon called Messages and the phone log should show up in there. You can mass delete everything in there by highlighting the top date in the list and pressing the Options button and click on Delete Prior. It will delete all the messages and phone log on the list prior to that date.
