I'm using the latest version of DM 5.0.1 I believe. I tried to update my 8220 to the latest OS... it loaded almost all the way, then said that the BB was disconnected (it was not). Then got the dreaded 507 screen. After 2 hours with tech support and trying to reload the OS using the mac, one my PCs, cmd line methods, etc. the device was determined to be bricked.
So basically watch out if you've got DM for mac and a 8220.
