hi everyone,

sorry for a newbie question... i didnt see this in other posts.

Im trying to get verichat installed, and tried setting up the wap.cingular in my TCP settings. No dice, i have to call cingular apparently (closed today) and have them add this.

My question is.. WHAT is this doing? Im fairly new to wireless data devices, and im just not sure what "adding this WAP" will change for me. I guess im looking for wireless data transmission 101 or something. Im an engineer and dont like making changes like this unless i understand what they are doing
