Do viruses only come as attachments to emails?

Recently, I've been getting tons of emails for everything from xxxxxx to penny stocks. some of the emails have a "unsubscribe" button at the bottom, but I'm reluctant to click on it thinking it will download a virus. Am I being too paranoid - are there viruses applicable to smartphones?
