Apple Computers rename and zip your backups to a file extension *.bbb. This file can be accessed on a Windows PC by first renaming the file with a ZIP extension, lets say .zip. Save that file name and open/extract with "winzip". The Blackberry desktop file extension .IDP is in the Databases folder, that is what you want to extract. After extraction, I renamed the file to whatever backup date it was from to keep it organized with the other .IDP folders.
