Thanks guys to the input. I'll accept that my device does not support UMA, but still a little confused as to why - any searching on the net for reviews / specs of the 8520 state that the model supports UMA. Nothing seems to go into the 'if it's branded etc.
I'm a bit annoyed because the research I did gave me the impression that all 8520's supported UMA.
Why would unbranded models not support UMA? Surely if it's unbranded, and therefore possible to use on any network, it should support UMA in case the network the device is connected to, also supports UMA?
Are you saying that handsets of the same 'model number' but different brands actually have different hardware in them (this question applies to all mobile handsets, not just BB 8520s)?
