Because you didn't wait enough time to dry your device thoroughly, you may have killed it. These are some steps folks have used to recover BlackBerrys that got wet:
1. Remove battery immediately! Do not attempt to power up until the drying process has had time to work.
2. Drain any water by shaking out the device. Do not use a hair dryer as they tend to generate too much heat and can damage components.
3. Place the BB in a tupperware container filled with uncooked (raw) white rice. Seal it inside, resting on top of the rice, letting it sit for 3 days or more. The rice draws out moisture and traps it, drying out the BB without applying dangerous heat.
After this, you *might* save your device. No guarantees, but this is your best course of action. |
