Are you sure it is unlocked? It will need to be unlocked to work with another network's sim card.
Go to Options/Advanced Options/SIM Card and whilst holding left shift ot alt, type mepd. In the resulting list there will be fields that say either Active or Disabled. If any are active, reply listing them.
