Default 8800 - email on GPRS without BES/BIS?

Please Login to Remove!

I just picked up a used TMOB-branded 8800 and I'm very happy with it so far, it's a nice upgrade from my (even older) 8700c.

I don't have BES/BIS, I run the old grandfathered $5.99 T-Zones plan, so I get WAP/HTTP over GRPS or EDGE. I use the BB Browser, Opera Mini 4, and occasionally Bolt, they all work just fine.

I can access my free POP3 email accounts like Yahoo and Gmail over the web. The only issue is that I'd like to configure the BB for one of my POP3 accounts...any of them, really, doesn't matter that I can click on an "email" link in a popup menu instead of having to navigate to the email portal and log in.

When I try to run Email setup, I only get the option to use a work account through BES (natch). Does anyone know of a workaround or an app to fix this?

Thanks! Arjay
