having the same problem also when i upgrade it to a new version. how do i downgrade?

From my experience, App World up to version 220.127.116.11 worked via wi-fi only. Since 18.104.22.168 it requires network connection (to check that you are in one of the countries covered by AppWorld I believe).
I fell in this trap, and managed to downgrade back to the previous release.
Check which version of AppWorld you are running.
