As opposed to updating itself, it sounds like you BB is rebooting. This is usually a memory issue. What is your free memory? Consider using Shrink-A-OS to get rid of stuff you don't need or use. Be ruthless in deleting email and other messages. Clear your browser cache regularly. Hope this helps.
