I've got the same exact problem (see below). I'm using a 7290 on T-Mobile. I can ping
www.google.com successfully, but I can't browse webpages in any browser (no error, it just loads indefinitely). It's not just that it's running slow...I've let it sit for 5 minutes and I still can't load Google (which is a really small page). I was on the phone with T-Mobile tech support for about an hour and a half with no luck. They escalated me to third-tier engineering support, but they never got back to me. I'd rather not pay money for a third party app (Shark Modem) especially when I'm able to get online. Anybody have any suggestions?

You might want to take a look at SharkModem. I have used it for hours at a time since it was release last week. It works very well, and it's fairly easy to set up. The only weird thing is that you have to configure your mail client and browser as if they are connecting to a proxy server.
