Thanks very much for the reply. Yes, I am able to browse (and do anything internet related, for that matter) when connected via my broadband connection. As far as I know, there are no firewalls (and I keep the native XP one disabled) although I'll need to double-check to be 100% certain. The fact that I'm getting successful pings leads me to believe that this wouldn't be the issue though, right? Again, any feedback is much appreciated so thanks for your thoughts, dozment.

If you can do a successful ping (ie, "ping www.blackberryforums.com " returns something that begins "Pinging blackberryforums.com [72.36.209.218] with 32 bytes of data:" you are connected and have DNS resolution.
Do you have a personal firewall (ZoneAlarm, Norton, or Mcafee for example) on the PC that could be stopping it? Try temporarily shutting down your personal firewall. There is also a firewall in later versions of Windows (starting with XP?) that could be blocking you, but I don't remember how to turn it off.
