First, please update your profile to indicate the BB you have. The 9000 is a GSM device and does not run on Verizon.

Speed is really dependent on a number of factors, such as the OS, device processor and memory, the connection itself, your distance to the tower, tower congestion and a couple others.

That being said, from what I know of the Samsung and other Android devices, they are faster than a BB, mainly because of a much faster processor and much more available memory. And I think the Android OS contributes to the speed as well.

If speed is a compelling factor, stick with Android. If you want a workhorse and you are on Verizon, then check the BB 9600s.
