Smile Help! BB Internet Service / new version / locked me out

I think i might have installed a new, incompatible version of BB Internet Set Up / Service. The device is now either not booting up or gives me the old "Uncaught exeption". I tried to find a way to restore the device to factory settings but it won't let me do it. I'm running a version of OS 6.0 (latest TMO os) and am a Intel Mac user and usually back up with the newest mac-compatible BB desktop software. Any ideas how to reset this baby? Thanks so much, experts!
