If you are referring to a totally white screen, with no error message at all, then it is probably not a software problem. Do a search and read the threads where people have encountered this.

If you have a white screen with a message in small black font in the center of the screen and it is not corrected by a hard reset (i.e. you remove the batter, with the power on, wait at least 30 seconds, then replace the battery, and the device boots to the same screen) then you will need to wipe the device software and then reinstall it.

If you have the while screen with no message, you can try wiping the device and then reisntalling the software. If that does not fix the problem, then you will know it is not a software problem.
