Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this has already been posted, but i can't find this specific scenario anywhere and would like to check the procedure.

I have a customer running BES 4.1.6 and i am upgrading them to BES 5.0.3. (By way of BES 4.1.7)

Unfortunately BES 5.0.3 does not support MSDE so i need to update this to SQL 2005 Express.

Should i just do an in-place upgrade of MSDE to SQL 2005 or should i backup the database, uninstall MSDE, install SQL 2005 run createdb and then restore the database.


Then upgrade to BES 5.0.3, or should i upgrade to BES 5.0.2 which supports MSDE, then do the SQL Upgrade then install SP3?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
