Desktop Manager sync's the default calendar as set in default services in options. Typically when everything else is sync'ing but the calendar and the sync settings in Desktop Manager are configured properly, the problem is there are multiple calendars on the device (i.e. multiple email addresses, Facebook, etc.) and the default CICAL is not the one actually in use. Check that, and change the default CICAL and CMIME setting to the one that is actually being used, then sync again. You want to set both CICAL and CMIME defaults to an email address, the same address, corresponding to the calendar you are using.
