My daughter here in the UK currently has a SIM only deal with 3, that gives her data, voice and SMS.

She desperately wants a Blackberry as all her friends use BBM. If I bought an unlocked Blackberry second hand would BBM work or do I have to pay a fee to RIM for BBM services at all?

Sorry for the newbie question!
