Default WIFI Certificate issues- Blackberry Curve 9360

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there, this is going to be a long post pertaining to certificate issues concerning being able to connect to Wifi at my University network with my new Blackberry Curve 9360.

The Wifi network is a WPA/WPA2 Enterprise, PEAP sub-type, requires the WAP CA certificate(specifically) to connect, and a username and password. The username and password have been entered correctly, and the real issue is the fact that I don't have the WAP CA certificate showing up on the Root Certificate menu.

The only thing is, I do actually seem to have the certificate on the phone, since going into certificate search(under view all handheld certificates) shows WAP CA on the list. I tried emailing the certificate to myself, deleting, and reinstalling the certificate with a shutoff(battery removal after powering down), with no success.

I then proceeded in having my friend, who has an older curve, send me his version of the WAP CA certificate via PIN, which I tried installing as well. It showed up under the Certificate Search application like the other version of the certificate, but would now show up under the WiFi certificate selection screen.

I then proceeded to try to import the emailed certificates through Blackberry Desktop, but I received a message that the certificates wasn't imported, with no explanation as to why.

The issue with not being able to connect seems to be only with the new Curves, according to the university IT department, and they currently have no solution for the problem. I have tried everything with no results, and I have this phone for the next three years and I really need to be able to connect to the internet for school work. If anyone has had similar problems, and has found a solution, or has any suggestion, I would very much appreciate it. I'm stuck. :(
